Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) End of Support Communication
Arkose Labs will be phasing out support of Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) beginning June 15th, 2022.
Why is this change happening?
This change is coming because Microsoft has announced that it will be ending support for IE11 on June 15th, 2022. We’re unfortunately not able to continue offering support for a product that’s no longer supported by the vendor.
How will the phase out work?
The phase out will happen in two stages, starting immediately with maintenance support.
What do I need to do?
Start reviewing any flows that are using outdated IE based technologies (e.g. apps using the Trident browser engine). If you are using the Arkose solution on those flows, we recommend migrating to a more modern browser engine for improved security and to take advantage of the fully featured standard mode EC, instead of the more limited fallback mode EC.
What will be the impact for our users and our company?
This change will have no immediate impact on you or your users. During the maintenance support phase, the
Arkose Labs experience for IE11 users will eventually begin to degrade though. This is unavoidable due to
Microsoft’s removal of support, which will cause the compatibility and user experience for IE11 to decline in
general. Our solution will still be usable by the majority of IE11 users, but it may not provide a polished user
experience and won’t support assistive technologies. New Arkose features may also not be supported.
Once we’ve reached EOS, the Arkose Labs experience for IE11 users will visibly change, but remain largely functional via fallback mode (see Render Types article in KB). Fallback mode was specifically designed for supporting old platforms and other edge cases, so Arkose Labs will be able to continue to provide a minimum usable, albeit not fully featured and less polished solution. In fallback mode, the Enforcement Challenge will no longer use custom visual styling and custom wording (if configured). Assistive technologies and techniques are not supported, and certain Arkose features may also not be supported.
Who do I talk to if I have questions?
