Device ID Overview

Device identification and intelligence for recognizing returning and risky devices.

Device ID is the Titan product for device identification and intelligence. It combines deterministic signals with machine-learning similarity detection to generate a single, persistent Arkose ID for each device interacting with your application, and surfaces device-level risk signals — so you can recognize returning devices, spot suspicious ones, and make better risk decisions across sessions.

What it does

  • Identifies devices — Produces a persistent device identifier that stays consistent across sessions, even when cookies or browser state are cleared.
  • Scores confidence — Every response includes a confidence score you can feed directly into your risk policies.
  • Surfaces device risk signals — Flags indicators such as tampering, spoofing, and other anomalies associated with a device.
  • Recognizes returning vs. new devices — Helps distinguish trusted, previously-seen devices from first-time or high-risk ones.

Why it matters

Device ID gives you a durable signal that complements session-level detection. Common uses include reducing friction for known-good devices, detecting account takeover from unfamiliar devices, and linking activity that spans multiple sessions or accounts.

How it fits with Titan

Device ID follows the shared Titan model — a client integration collects device signals, and your backend receives the resulting Arkose ID and risk data to act on. See How Titan Works for the common flow.
